Loveproof and beyond!

I just wanted to share with everyone an excerpt from the short film Loveproof - directed by the lovely Maia Horniak. The film made Official Selection for the 60th Cannes Film Festival (Cinema Des Antipodes) and won Best Short at the 2007 World of Women International Film Festival Australia.

She's a very talented lady and Loveproof's a magnificent short film. Maia will be directing the upcoming Goalpost Pictures feature film MIXTAPE, a rom-com set to the ultimate mixtape.

It's been an exciting few days for us here with a series of international sales for The Sapphires, our new film directed by Wayne Blair. We can't wait to share this film with everyone and are thrilled that our girls from Darwin will be shown off on an international stage. Jessica Mauboy certainly has come a long way since she first graced our screens in 2006.

And here she is now with the our other Sapphires: Deborah Mailman, Shari Sebbens & Miranda Tapsell.

It's been a quiet day in the office today with the rain hammering at our windows. We're excited to have locked off picture for The Sapphires as we move on into sound - and I think we've got ourselves a little gem of a film!

While listening to the rain & snacking on my baguette today I stumbled across the trailer for Sundance Audience Prize winning film Like Crazy, and it looks stunning. As a traveller who's prone to visa complications I think it's an exciting dynamic for a contemporary love story... Check it out and let me know what you think!

Oh, and happy Valentines Day everyone. I think I might sneak off to see a film with a glass of red. Also a reminder to enter our first competition in the post below!

News from Sundance

The Sundance Film Festival is halfway to conclusion and Goalpost is being represented nicely by Lauren Edwards, who produced the nominated short film Bear. The short film screened with an all-round positive audience reception, as did Joel Edgerton's new feature Wish You Were Here! Fantastic to see Australian cinema being represented so proudly!

Office ironing...

There's always a risk factor when ironing in the office- but luckily I managed to pull these together this morning without a burn, prick or bruise! A couple of us will be donning these tonight for a little function we're holding & while they may not turn heads, they are readable! Also, on another topic, I was wondering what the last film soundtrack you bought was & what made you love it? I'm looking to broaden my music collection over the weekend and could use some pointers.

Just in time for the release of Lockie Leonard series 2 (part 2) on DVD, we're excited to share that L.L. has been nominated for Best Children's Fiction series at the 2011 ATOM Awards! While we find some wall room for this pretty piece of paper, please keep an eye on the blog for upcoming chances to win copies of the DVD!

Bear at Sundance!

We received some exciting news today! The short film Bear, directed by Nash Edgerton & produced by our very own Lauren Edwards, has officially been accepted into the Sundance Film Festival - nominated in the International Short Film category!

If you have a spare moment make sure you check out this little teaser for the film. Also, a bit of trivia for you: One of the actors in Bear is DOP on The Sapphires. Can you work it out?

According to one of our anonymous Executive Producers the key to success, health and happiness is a green smoothie. Poor in taste but rich in results! We thought it was only fair to pass on the recipe so that everyone else can give it a shot;

- 1 x banana

- handful of spinach

- ginger (to taste)

- water

If you can brave the taste, let us know what you think. Any other ideas for super-smoothies?
